What age are you gav? If you're anything over 15 this is a fairly pathetic way to be carrying on. Your life makes me sad.

Or better yet just leave out the threat and get on with doing whatever it is you're threatening to do.

  This is bang on - over my lifetime seen / heard about plenty of threats, and plenty of kickings ....and my conlusion is never the twain shall meet !
      Were the kickings preceded with a threat ?  only very rarely ...... Were the threats followed up with a kicking ?  ..... again very rarely ! 

 
Well, lets face it - if you're seriously intent on giving someone a kicking, threatening them beforehand simply gives them a warning and time to avoid you/arm themselves/involve their mates/call the cops/whatever way they choose to deal with it.
 
As you say Dr Z - Ive had a number of kickings in my life - none of them were preceeded by a threat. And Ive had an even larger number of threats - not a single one ever actually led to a kicking.
 
Id go as far as to say that these days, if I had a serious issue with someone and they started making threats against me, thats the point at which Id start to relax a bit - Id be thinking "ok, they've decided not to actually do anything - they've taken it to verbal instead"

  Exactly !   .... Also see a lot on facebook etc where people threaten they are going to do all sorts to someone -  Well that just great ! Put it in writing for the world to see and use in evidence against them
     .....if they wanted to be really helpful they could just handcuff themselves and get their mums to drop them off to the police station 
    And the irony is that although they clearly lack the balls to carry out the actions , the Police will treat them as if they would ! 
 

Id tend to agree but if they wont meet or you cant find them frustration can set in, and plus sometimes its good to tenderise ur meat before u dig in.
