I have wrote this and iv just realised am asking you bunch for serious advice.... lol this should be fun

I had the best Valentines day ever last year. 1900 Arrive Wetherspoons 1905 Order Valentines Special two 12oz steaks rare with bottle of red wine £15 plus x2 choc fudge cake puddings for myself. 1945 dessert is destroyed as is the gents. Winning this convinced me that Valentines day is now a useful marketing gimmick from Clintons . So take her to wetherspoons for similar food job done. Do you really need to be romantic to be Valentinesy? I thought standard fare was flowers and chocolates in the morning, lots of kisses and I love yous throughout the day, and as romantic (for romantic, read expensive) a meal as you can afford at night-time. Then you buy as expensive a gift as you can afford and lavish it upon her. Oh, and a romantic (aka ****) film, be it at the cinema or not, somewhere in-between probably helps. I also like to take a girl for a romantic walk, late at night, preferably along some waterfront or another. But I'm not convinced that women like it. It's rapist behaviour, even when you're going out with somebody. So, basically, I don't know. Teddy bears and jewellery, chocolates and roses, nice food, expensive gifts, lots of soppy crap. That's the drill, surely?

If it means something to her then do something that SHE will like. All the usual stuff, take her for a meal or cook her a meal, get her perfume, flowers etc... You don't have to spend much to show her that you care.

I think your girlfriend should be grateful to have a man who obviously seems to care about her instead of comparing you to her mates boyfriend. If she wants a boyfriend like him she should go out with him. If not then stop dwelling on what other people do in their relationships, for all she knows they might hate each others guts and do nothing but snipe and moan at each other behind closed doors the rest of the year.

Why do you need a day just for "showing you care"? If you do this all year round what is the point?

make a photo album of pics of you and her. try and order them in chronological order. You could even write a line under each picture which continues on to the next page, be it funny, banter, and what she means to you. Good luck

Because girls are always in competition with each other... On the other hand, it depends how much you want to spend... How about a night or two away at a hotel that does Valentines weekend specials... Get away from everything and drink Champagne & F**K :) If she's worth it and you can afford it then do it...

If valentines day was so important to her why dont she arrange something for you. Always the man that seems to have to waste money on it.
