Surely its part of the brain thats switched off just like when your asleep?  Only when you awake from k.o youve got a killer headache after your brains bounced off the inside of your skull a load of times.

Nope its deffo the tounge that makes the rasping noise, the tounge falls back occluding most of the passage of air,the noise is the remaining air rushing past the tounge ,a quick chin lift/jaw thrust stops this

So basically when you are asleep your tounge does this too.

At times, snoring can be the tounge occluding the airway as in a KO,this can stop you breathing and is called sleep apnea (there are others causes for sleep apnea as well)

You can also snore due to neck position, being over weight or a BB with a massive neck, again the airway is almost folded or nipped like a hosepipe ,so that the air isnt freely flowing

the most common is a soft roof of the mouth so air passes over and causes a rasping noise.

When someone is KO'd and you hear snoring, simply bend down two fingers under their chin and lift a little,or roll them into the old first aid recovery postion

Everyone has been in shape, but not everyone is IN shape, its about where your going not where you have been.
