A protein shake is a meal replacement, just one with nearly all protein in it, so yes I would cus they are convenient, cant carry lots of meat to work with me.

Thats not what meal replacements are for, they are for convenience not losing bf and keeping muscle. Macro nutrients which is the % of protein, carbs and fat you are eating in each meal plus what sort of protein/carbs/fats you are eating is more important. You need to eat mainly real whole foods for vits and minerals to be healthy.

as above - meal replacements should really only replace meals when you're in a position when real food isn't an option. They're just a convenient way to get calories/protein/carbs and some fats inside you.

i would imho say make your own buy either milk protien (if cutting) peanutbutter or almond, flaxseed real porridgae oats, buckwhet, barley( all good clean carbs use barley or oats for cutting) if bulking whey or a blend such as total protein maltodex, oats, barley, dextrose, wms peanut butter, flaxseed, amond butter, fish oil, mixed seed and add milk with ice blend and done the reason for fast carbs in bulking is they make people hungery thus making room for more food as hi gi carbs play with isulin levels and make people eat more or buy a tub of lean grow or buy from mp total mrp or mp max mrp they are amazing and delcisoius
