I had a Golf GTI Turbo [1.8T] 2000, which was my old company car - it was great done 110,000 miles without flickering a beat.

I was so impressed we got a VW beetle for my little lady earlier on his month. [basically a golf]

Just check when he cambelt has been done [60,000 miles or 4 years].

Oh and I hope you have gone for the 1.8T as the 2.0l is very underpowered and uneconomical.

A quick look on some golf GTI forums should give you all the common faults to look for.
Other than that, a regular service.

Besides, its German, its not like your looking at French rubbish!

Yeah only thing to make sure of is its not the 2.0, poor engine, 115 brake for a gti....shocking! The 1.8T is a good buy, i used to have one, best thing you could do after buying it is get it mapped :)
