10,000 BC - Channel 5

Anyone along with me, stay up for this last night?
If you didn't or havent seen the previews even, the basic premise is that a group of individuals from varying walks of life are dumped into a Bulgarian game reserve, which apparently replicates life in the prehistoric age.
Given only clothes, pieces of Flint and limited rations and the like, they now have to live together and fend for themselves for a 8 week period, living as it were, as a Caveman.
Interesting first episode mind, seeing them skin and prepare a (previously killed) deer, make a fire and attempt to put in place a camp leader.
Felt for the old dear who barely lasted a couple of hours before being carted away due to sunstroke; less sympathetic though of the guy who gave up on day 2, due to being homesick.
I really wonder what motivates people to engage in programmes like this, the majority it appeared being almost inevitably ill advised and ill prepared!

Still - I definitely reckon the programme has legs and I'm admittedly looking forward to the second episode tonight! :)

I watched some of it, and really don't know where they get these ppl from. The guy who left obviously had issues before he went in there and shouldn't have been there in the first place.
Could be interesting although I can't see many of them going the distance to be honest.
Reminds me of the island with bear grylls, that was similar type of programme.

LOL! You have a point fella!
Nah - with it being the first episode, and their arrival to their new surroundings, they did get a leg-up to get them off and running. Along with the freshly killed deer, clothing and ready built thatch huts they had a Bear Grylls type guide who instilled into them a few basic survival skills & techniques and simply told them what they'd need to be doing on a daily basis to survive e.g. get a regular fire started, hunt for food, make a communal toilet etc etc etc.
The episode concluded with this guy saying that his stay was over and that from tomorrow they were essentially on their own (aside from the emergency team that were always there and on standby if necessity warranted it LOL!).
Similar to Big Brother no doubt it will all start out being friendly and altruistic until the usual characters start to come out and assert a bit of authority with conflict no doubt ensuing. Like I say - worth a watch mate!

What a load of utter sh1te this is just wasted 35 minutes on this. Genuinely how do you apply to be on these shows? I would ****ing love to have that experience but then I guess it wouldn't make good tv if you picked a group of people who actually could go survive.
