2 day split

I have just joined a new gym and I was given this routine, I have trained on and off before and the sets/reps in this routine seem a bit weird to me, what does everybody else think?

Wednesday
8x8 Bench Press
8x8 Power Cleans (if these are where you start of with the bar on the floor, then on your chest and then abo[:0]ve your head?)
6x8 Zottoman Presses(well this is what he called them, start off lying down on a bench with dumbells at waist level then twist up to where they would be if you were doing a DB bench press, supposedly hits triceps)

Friday
6x8 Squats
6x8 Deadlifts
6x8 Standing Bicep BB Curls

    friday seems ridiculous to me. here's my 2 day split if u would like to use it.
    Day 1
    Dips
    Front Squats
    bench
    SLDL

    Day 5
    Deadlift
    military press
    bent over row
    close grip chins

    all exercises use 5X5

    I'd go push pull
    Day 1) Squats, Bench or Wide dips, shoulder presses, narrow dips or close grip bench

    Day 2) Deads, bent over row, chins, Barbell curls, crunches.

    3 sets of 4-8 on each exercise

    I think the routines posted by ice-mach and dave are much better alternatives to that routine you have posted.

    Its got the basics in there; squat, deadlift, bench but the way they are arranged is erratic. To achieve max intensity i wouldnt put squat and deadlift on the same day because they are such demanding exercises.
