There is losing overall weight and there is losing body fat to look leaner. A lot of the weight you lose in two weeks will be water, you're body cannot simply use up enough stored body fat as an energy source in that time. I've been on a low to zero carb diet for 5 weeks now, plus weights in the morning and 3-4 hours sessions on the road bike, my average weekly weight loss is 2lbs, I cannot do anymore, apart from starving myself.
Even if you did shift a lot more weight, you would find that this would quickly go back on whilst on your holidays.
