20 min warmup then HIIT?

Is it a good idea to go for a 20 min run then rest for 5 and then start HIIT?

or am i sacrificing something doing it this way?

is it too much warmup? Too much rest?

or is it ok?

    not something i would do

    HIIT is better on full glycigen tanks IMO, 20 minutes may deplete this and hinder ability to reach peaks required to really bump up EPOC

    stick to the basics IMO

    steady state or HIIT
