2015 aims - Log

Bit of history.

I played football to a good level (northern counties) until the age of 19 when I had an injury which prevented me from walking for 9 months - thank you to the goal keeper for that one. After this I haven't played football at any kind of level and as such decided to make the most of Friday nights with the boys and spent most of my early/mid 20s.

As we all know Beer + kebabs + pizza + hangovers = wobbly bodies.

I started training at 25 with no goals other than working out what to do with all the equipment in the gym, This was probably the case for a year or so, and the next couple of years wanting to "tone up". From 2011 I decided to actually look into this a little further and researched body building. This changed my ideas of going to the gym.

I have been bulking and cutting for the last few years and now I have my diet and training in check I have decided to add a 30day EPI cycle to this years cut which starts on February 1st. I will be logging my progress including diet & training on as much as I can a daily basis. I'll include photographs and all weights/measurements on day 1 and on the 1st of every month throughout 2015.

Any advice or comments will be welcomed and taken on board especially as this will be my 1st venture into PH's.

Cheers

Andy

Hi Andy, re your EPI cycle 30 days is nowhere near long enough mate, 6-8 weeks is the recommended. What kind of dose were you looking at as well?

I'm going to run as a provision 20/30/30/40.

This is the plan as it is my 1st cycle and want to test my sensitivity. Don't want to go balls deep on my 1st outing and find that I get every side on the market. Knowing my luck I'll come out looking like Frankenstein.😆

If I'm coping well with it my plan B is 20/30/40/40.

I'm aware that it is a late breaker and that week 3-4 is where EPI starts to show its colours.

I am thinking of repeating again in June/July and I will look at a longer cycle then if all goes well with this one.

You got much experience of EPI pal? If so did you rate it for results?

Cheers

Andy

Never tried it myself, possibly my next cycle which would be 50mg for 8 weeks. People either love it or hate it. I would suggest start off @30mg a day and see how you go, 4 weeks is probably not long enough. If you're not getting bad sides why cut your cycle short?

Lone Wolfe - Cheers pal, thanks for the welcome.

Newcastle - I agree, but just realised that they are 20mg tabs so maybe 20/40/40/40. See after 1st week.

Cheers

Diet is on point now and training intensity is upping ready for start of cut on 1st of Feb.

Full log will be starting on 1st until then I will be aiming to get everything just where I need it ready for optimising the results.

If there is anyone who knows optimal training for a cut whilst using EPI. I'm thinking failure, drop sets and working on a good pump and aiming to increase weight by minimum of 5kg per week whilst on cycle. But as it is a cut should I up my cardio? I hate cardio, I usually just do 10 minutes on the step mill post workout to get the BPM up. Maybe an insanity class or something high intensity. I just don't want to compromise my gains too much from this latest bulk.

And then there's PCT........... All new grounds for me

Any pointers are very welcome

Cheers

Cutting is all about solid and tailored nutrition, combined with a good training program. Cardio is not essential, but it is a useful tool.

I have my diet where it needs to be and will be altering as necessary every couple of weeks according to where I am with results.

I will keep doing my 10 mins post training and add a HIIT session per week.

Cheers

Just done with a killer chest session after a good week of training and eating.............

My PH cycle is all delivered and ready now and I think it is giving me a boost of adrenaline in anticipation of my 1st cycle as I hit a PB on incline bench tonight, I usually max out on my heavy set at 80kg but I was feeling good so pushed it up to 90kg and got 6 reps + 2 forced reps with my buddy. I'm a happy boy this evening!!!

Started taking the Fish oil, Hawthorne berry & continuing with my multi-vitamins in prep for starting the cycle on 1st Feb.

Rest day tomorrow, will take dogs for a decent walk (and class this as cardio) but other than that I'm going to chill out with the missus and give the body a chance to repair ready for Saturdays leg session.

This weeks training has been:

Sunday - Rest
Monday - Shoulders & Abs (10 minute 2km treadmill)
Tuesday - Back
Wednesday - Arms & Abs (10 minute 2km treadmill)
Thursday - Chest (10 minute 2km treadmill)
Friday - Rest
Saturday - Legs

Anyone got any advice on stretching? I hate it but feel like I should be doing it as I'm as flexible as a tree trunk. It's something I've always dodged due to it really hurting. I can just about touch mid shin with straight legs, but this feels like I'm going to rip my hamstrings and arse.

I nearly fell down the stairs this morning after training legs yesterday with a couple of pals. It was one of those great sessions where you are all pushing each other to get the most out of the time in the gym.

I always do 5 sets, 2 warm up and 3 working sets.

The session went like this. Weight/Reps:

10 min step mill warm up
Leg press - 85/10, 85/10, 145/10, 185/8, 185/8 - 225/4
Calf raises (on leg press) - 80/20, 100/20, 130/20, 130/20, 140/17
Hamstring curls - 52/10, 52/10, 66/10, 66/10, 72/10
Leg extensions - 45/10, 40/10, 35/12, 30/12, 30/12
Smith machine squats - 50/8, 50/8, 50/6, 50/6, 40/7

I felt good after the 3rd working set on the leg press so I decided to go for a PB which I managed to get 4 full reps done.

I wanted to get some squats in to finish off even though all 3 of us were walking like mr soft at this point. I'm not going to lie, I found this part really hard and I had to keep checking the bar after each set to see what was on the ends. It felt like I was lifting a small house when in fact it was just 50kg max, we used the smith machine due to pre fatigue and wanting to be able to get some decent form at this stage of the session.

I'm suffering today but I'm dreading tomorrow
