272.5kg Jefferson Deadlift

Thought i'd throw something up as section is so quiet...

Deadlift day... Hit a triple at 300kg then some weaknesses paused work then speed work against a band before playing with these again. Quite fatigued but hit this 272.5kg/600lbs Jefferson Deadlift.

Bit of an unusual looking exercise. Any benefit/difference to normal deadlifts? It looks a bit awkward on the grip too me.

Decent weight and looked like you were warming up!

Its a very old Strongman lift, just messing around before my strength peak starts, wanted to see what I could lift with it, 300kg seems likely but probably won't get chance to test it. Grip is easy mate, just a standard mixed grip and feels like normal. It feels more like a leg/press/squat as the bar is directly under you so no leverage as such like a normal dead. Feel it a lot in quads and glutes. Good laugh for a change but won't be a staple in my routine!

Great lifting. Did this year's ago, a nice variation particularly if you sumo deadlift. Although changing things about and trying different exercises is always good!

Looks like it puts a ****load of torque on your spine under a heavy load, I would stay well clear of that lift!
