Haven't checked in on MT for years, so many familiar names in this thread - July 03 it says i registered, I wish i'd spent the last 16 years training instead of wasting away!

I've recently started to train again, am soooo weak its untrue!

2002 here - I remember being addicted whilst I was at university, logging on everyday. Good to see some familiar names, though I've never been a big poster.

WTF are these reward points given for anyway? The bloke above you has more reward points but only a third of the posts. You're being ripped off mate!

Did they adopt in the end?

We did, she moved in with us when she was 8 months old ( Sept 2016), she turned 3 last week.

Unsurprisingly training went to pot! It had already gone by the wayside before we started the process really and then my Mum got terminally ill and passed away March 2016.

I started Crossfit in March 2017 as I actually felt a bit ashamed going back to the gym being so weak and out of shape and also wanted to try something that would give me a bit of motivation in a group format and I have been totally addicted. Our gym is really amazing and the coaches are super hot on form and do tell you to strip the weights down if form degrades.

I am the fittest and strongest I have ever been, it just really works for me. I've done a few Crossfit Comps and did the BNBF Ultimate Athlete last year where you had strength and fitness tests on day 1 and then on stage day 2 but with more of a fitness model look. I came 2nd overall but won the stage part

Life is really awesome, feel the most content I have ever been and also in the best shape... I even nearly have abs in January !

So lovely to see so many old faces, we had some good chats over the years !

And though she be but little, she is fierce..

Sorry to hear about your Mum, especially at a time when you had been thru so much, but genuinely pleased for you now, got your hands full at 3 though (hope you didn't mind me being nosy and asking). Good to see you getting some competitive success in there too now, that must be a real juggling act, but all very well deserved and earned after all the work you have put in over the years.

How's Desmo doing these day too?

It was really awful, she was diagnosed with Lung & brain cancer in the Nov and by the March she was gone, so quick. So sad she never got to meet our little girl but she has my Mum's middle name.

Hands full indeed, she is a bloody lunatic ! Love her so much, she is hilarious. She loves going to Bodybuilding shows and frequently watches clips on you tube. She also loves Queen and Michael Jackson, she is not your typical 3 year old, nurture is winning over nature haha !

The prep was actually easy! I didn't change my training at all, aside from adding in a bit of strength work, I had to deadlift double my bodyweight for max reps ( amongst other things ) and when I entered my 1RM was 92.5 with an expected finishing weight of around 50... so I had to cut whilst gaining strength and it happened. I wasn't needing to get too lean though so it wasn't really a problem. I managed 3 reps in the end which I was thrilled about. I only just managed to pull 100kgs a few weeks before. I was not the leanest I have ever been but 100% in the best shape. Just started my prep for this year, giving myself 4 extra weeks and higher food, and a starting point of 6-7lbs lighter so should bring a good package!  Finally got myself a trophy :D I was considering competing in masters figure next year ( 40 this year wtf) but I really love the Ultimate Athlete, it ticks all the boxes so will prob stick with that.

Desmo is well! He joined up Crossfit about 4/5 months after me, he enjoys it but not at the addicted level I'm at

And though she be but little, she is fierce..

Really happy for you... for you both. You guys went thru so much, worked so hard and just seemed the nicest most genuine people even if it was just thru the internet world that I knew you but whenever the odd nostalgia post would pop up it would cross my mind how you guys were and how things had gone so I am really pleased things all worked out. *mushy nonsense over with now LOL

We have a 2 year old grandson now (well, his technically my step grandson) as well as dealing with my now teenage son - now there's an interesting phase in parenthood LOL

And I'll try not to hold the crossfit against you ... I actually have a mate runs a crossfit gym and is always doing crossfit games etc. Going up from a sub 100 max to tripling 100 is some going. Trophy has been a long time coming, can't say you haven't put in the graft over the years, just needed to find your thing
