3 day split? What is the answer?

Right after reading loads of posts what really is the ideal number of times should a person train?Does it depend on the individual or what. Is it 1 day on and 1 day off?I train 5 times a week, mixing weight and cardio, i train hard and it seems to be working, but what advice would u give to make it even more effective and to give me some real gains??
Cheers

It would depend on your routine TBH. Don't neglect the importance of rest tho.
