Nice one Bencher, probably would've missed that.

I'll tape this baby, the only other powerlifting i've seen is small avi's, mov's etc on the net of people like Tommy Fannon. Never seen a full on meet, never mind a World Championships before.

Damn, I'm going to the theatre tonight to see When Harry Met Sally starring Luke Perry.

Yes I know, you feel my pain.

That video timer's going to be set...

Aye a few looked good to me but the IPF is the strictest of the federations. Did you see "the OXO cube" Clive Henry get the 420kg squat...monster!

I think that stance in his case is as close as he could get, some size of thighs on him. He certainly wasn't as wide as some of them. What did you think of the American Tony Harris who "ripped" his quad only to come back and get a 340kg deadlift and 4th place. Methinks he was putting it on somewhat!

Didn't look like he did too much damage to me, he walked off quite normally.

Oh yeh another thing, did anyone notice that one of the guys pulling in the lower weight divisions (I think he pulled about 340kg?) was using a double overhand grip! Don't know if he was hook gripping, but either way that's some strong hands.

There was also a guy in the 125kg class who pulled around 370kg with a double overhand, Russian boy I think, could be an ex weighlifter. phenomenally strong hands.

i couldnt believe in the super heavies that 3 were penalised for the hand placement on the squat, that totally threw them mentally.

At least the russian (Andrey Malanichev) used locked thumb grip, with taped thumbs and all.
