5th day off the cigarettes...

Today will be my 5th day off the cigarettes. I have tried to stop many times before...even though I only smoke really when I am drinking and when I am in the house on my own.

Tonight I had a puff off a mate and I did not enjoy it at all. My chinese last night tasted so much better and so does juice and my appetite seems to be gaining already (tonight I had mince with mash...lots of, then quite soon after I had a chicken breast with a pasta and sauce) and I feel capable of eating more.

I think its time to start my weight gain diet again and see what happens without the fags.

It will be interesting to know.

I'll keep you updated !

    I 2nd that.

Stick with it, and remember that there will be days when you desire 1.

6 years ago I smoked 20 a day - I still get a craving, but I focus on the benefits of not smoking and it gets me through it.

When I was a young boy, my father took me into the city to see a marching band. He said, "Son when you grow up, will you be the saviour of the broken, the beaten and the damned?".

MATE, absolutely well bloody done and I just hope you keep it up! Give yourself a pat on the back.

I hate smoking and I hate the idea of people smoking too, I just hope/pray my Dad stops soon.

Girls who smoke are such a turn off, well to me anyway, not that I turn them on or anything (which Im sure I do to some of them!), but just generally dont like people smoking.

Congrats now stick with it and don't take even one puff, i plan to quit soon, i know there's no time like the present but i have had ongoing health issues but i'm at the point now where quitting might actually help towards some of my health issues. I quit for 3 months once and never had a drink then wen't clubbing one night and got pissed and brought some cigs

thats what took my Dad on the 20th of March. I ask you to do everything you can to help him stop. Even put him in touch with me!

    LOL

The fact that every one of my friends smokes does not help. However, I hope they follow suit when I have been stopped for a month !

Well done mate. Best thing to do for a few months is avoid the places you smoke i.e. pubs that was my biggest problem as all my mates smoked. That’s what I had to do and I have been properly quite now for about 2 years, plus I inspired a few of my mates to quite at the same time lol!!!!!

its not easy but hang in there. I'm off them a few months, though I slipped up once or twice for sure.
The last time I took a drag, I felt like puking and was dizzy, can't see myself going back at this stage because I've totally lost the habit.

I gave up with my GF, it helps if you have a pal to support you, you'll have plenty of pals who wont!

I quite 3 years ago now, was on about 10 a day. Best thing i ever did, the most difficult too. But helped me mass up bigtime and improved my weightlifting to no end.

Keep at it mate, its worth it.
