i must admit i only do 5x5 on deadlifts (squats i do 4x6). I generally keep the weight the same throughout, but every week or two try to get the 5 reps out with an extra 2.5kg on the bar for my last 2 or final set. Basically trying to prrogress slowly but surely. I do the same with squats but with 6 reps.
As a side note i was doing a couple of sets or 3 or 2 reps on deads before my 5 sets of 5 upuntil recently, but i had to visit the chiropractor yesterday so I'm just going to go back to the 5x5 and not be so clever (lower back pros on/off all the time)
