A few questions

Hi,
I have a few questions which I hope you could help me with:

1. Is it OK to grind oats to a powder and consume as part of a shake? I'm worried that they will just go in one end and come straight out the other! Thus, giving me no benefit!

2. I have 500mg omega 3 caps bought from MP.co.uk. How much do I need a day? As I'm just starting out, my goals are to take advantage of the 6 month honeymoon period and do a "lean bulk" whereby I'm packing on muscle but also losing fat. I'm eating as clean as possible so diet is pretty much spot on following TTs lean bulk. I have a can of tuna 3-4 times a week which is my main/only source of EFAs.

3. Do I maintain the same diet on rest days? I was thinking of lowering carbs on rest days, to help me lose the fat in this early stage.

Thanks in advance

    1) Yes, thats's fine.

    2) It will depend on your whole diet.

    3) The only thing i generally change on rest days is my post workout shake. I would'nt get too caught up with trying to 'reduce' fat whilst you're bulking, even on a lean bulk.

    Thanks noname.
Grinding the oats shaves a few more minutes off meal times!

As for your reply to 3, is it safe to assume that sticking to my routine - Cashman's, and gentle cardio on rest days - kickboxing, I'll be successfull in my immediate goal of a lean bulk by sticking to TTs lean bulk diet?

I'm making every effort to eat clean, and cutting out the booze.

you won't be getting your efas from tins of tuna, mate.

tins of mackerel, yes. tuna, no.

i had a medium sized hot smoked mackerel the other day which said it had 27.7g of fat per 100g (compared to 7.something for tinned tuna in brine).

you will need a lot of 0.5g caps to get the same effect, either way.

That all depends on what the tuna is tinned in. Yes there isn't any EFAs in brine.

but sunflower oil and EFAs = not ideal
olive oil is a mono 9 in the main and ~10% n6 (again not really deemed EFA)

its more IMO about sorucing n3 in the diet as a 'number 1' due to the high level or n6 in our diet already

    my shout?

out of spring water and brine and add flax oil too it if you want fats with tinned tuna
