A real beginners routine?

Thought about J5s thread the other day about us all really being able to do ten overhead squats with just the bar and, from what I remember, that you shouldn't really be lifting heavy weights if you can't do something as 'simple' as that.

It made me think that a true beginners routine maybe shouldn't have any weight lifting in it at first and, perhaps, it should consist of standing squats, press ups, dips and pull ups, etc? A two week/one month intro that'll will set you up nicely.

Any thoughts?

i beleive beginers should go straight into the thivk sh*t if there looking for size to optimize there gains.

however i beleive i do also beleive a base should be built up with basic compound exercises, weightless/lightweight squats dips bench etc etc.
