A very level headed response!

Absolutely shocked at this.

To be frank, the guy behind 'burn a koran day' needs a free holiday to one of these places, see how long he lasts with his absurd views.

Tolerance is a 2-way street. Now because of his stupidity inciting others, members of the UN, out there trying to help folk, are dead. Skills, pat yourself on the back... moron.

Woah hang on a minute....yeah they guy was a tool for burning a book and yeah he needs the free holdiday...

But the UN people are dead because there are some seriously fcked up individuals out there looking for ANY excuse to murder people. Burning of a Koran today, tomorow someone spells it wrong on the TV and there will be more murders.

ITS A BOOK FFS. Some perspective needed here i think. The murders will happen regardless.

Why did he burn it though? Surely he knew his actions would have serious repercussions? Similar things have caused uproar before, so whats the point in trying to provoke things further?

I honestly dont know why he burned it, but lets not confuse religion with extremism here.

    Have to agree with this.
The fact that an anti-Islamic U.S. preacher oversaw the public burning of a Qur'an is absolutely no defence for the murder of unrelated U.N workers/. The two events simply cannot be linked by even the most extremist minds, unless, of course, it is the preacher himself, or one of his followers, being murdered by Islamic fundamentalists, in which case there would exist a very warped defence.

I agree the reaction was OTT, but what did the pastor expect to happen when so many similar incidences have caused outrage before?

He probably didnt think. He might be at home right now in utter shock, comtemplating his actions. Religion and beliefs make people do crazy things somtimes. As walkie pointed out, i dont condone this, the guys a numpty, however he isnt to blame for the deaths of ten people imo!

Yeah he 100% knew what would happen, bet he's got a big smile on his face right now seeing what he's caused

If you read a bit about him he's an all around retarded redneck arsehole. It's not just Muslims on his hate list. Someone needs to put him down

Yes the Pastor is a tw4t, but are drab, you appear to almost be suggesting that the extremists murderers hold no responsibility?

I realise this wouldn't be what you are implying at all (I hope), but surely the Pastor is just somewhat of an excuse for extremists looking for trouble?!

You're right, I wasn't implying anything like that mate

Just to make double clear - I wasn't suggesting anyone has a lack of responsibility for murder - I didn't mention anything of the sort as I took it as given that nobody would approve of random murder!

The Pastor however is most certainly a twat (as you say), a hate filled bigot, he knew what he was doing and I encourage people to read more about him before passing this off as just an "excuse" to kill. It's people like him who deliberately create bad feelings between communities and peoples

And it sickens me that people like that get media coverage.

I shouldn't know about this prick or what he is doing, no one should, other than those around him.
