Whats the diet like by the way?
Thanks for the question. My diet is not bad but then I am an "ANGEL"!!!! Actually my halo is strangling me at this precise moment as I've been out with friends and I've just committed a cardinal sin and demolished a "Keebab".
I used to be a complete carbs junkie and eat loads of bread, pasta, rice etc but for I've cut down on my carbs and increased my protein alot over the last six months. Because my job involves me doing lots of cardio stuff I still need the carbs but I try to go for Low G.I. foods and I also try to stick to the Carb Curfew as recommended by Joanna Hall, Fitness and Diet Expert, which means no carbs after 6pm. It's not always easy, as the exercise classes I instruct make me ravanous.
I eat massses of vegetables and some fruit, I used to eat truck loads of fruit but I've cut down on that too because of the sugar.
I have lots of protein in the form of Tuna, Tuna Steaks, Chicken, Salmon, Mackeral, Trout and Tofu. I was a Vegetarian for 6 years so I find it quite hard to eat red meat but I eat some for iron and Vitamin B12. I drink some milk but I also use soya milk in hot drinks etc as I find too much normal milk aggrevates my asthma.
I use whey protein powder, which I started on about 6 months ago. I have one scoop with Breakfast and one scoop post workout. If I have bad DOMS or I've done a ridiculous amount of exercise I have one scoop before bed too. I drink about 3 litres of water a day and I take the following supplements:- Multi-vitamins and Minerals, Cod Liver Oil, Co Enzyme 10 (ENERGY SPARK PLUG,gives me more energy for all my exercise), Evening Primrose OIL (for my PMT), Garlic Oil (as there is a history of heart disease in my family) and CLA (To reduce my body-fat hopefully). I do probably rattle when I walk. lol.
A typical days diet would probably look like this:-
Chicken, Broccoli, Cabbage, carrots, potato, parsnips
protein bar/cereal bar/Flapjack
Salmon Salad and pasta (before 5pm)
IF I HAVE EXERCISE CLASSES TO INSTRUCT LATE EVENING I WOULD PROBABLY HAVE SOME OTHER SNACKS BEFORE SUCH AS:-
MIXED DRIED FRUIT
I don't like chocolate, cakes, biscuits, pies, burgers etc but I do have a weakness for pizza, Chinese Takeaways and Indian Currys. You have to have some vices!
