Those 5 moved quick enough and looked good mate. I can't wear a belt when doing deads, it just makes me feel weaker :-(

I should be getting some of the power shoes delivered today, looking forward to it and will let you know how I get on.

Cheers bud, they did feel nice and quick. My belt goes on from about 140, as my lifts go up that 'belt on' number will go up. That's the plan.

Awesome mate, yeh let me know how you get on and whether they live up to the hype. The Gangstas certainly do! And with reebok making them they should be ace

There's allsorts going on in that session. Loads of lifting (I DO like the look of these 531's) and treadmill incline stuff too. Great workout by the sounds of it mate.

Lots of info on the Internet about 531. I am enjoying it and like that I can do higher volume / rep stuff after, but then I'm very accustomed to high volume. I'm doing alot more than Jim recommends

Well they came last night mate, and I'm in 2 minds...

Firstly, they're huge boots... They just look so chunky and massive. The design I wanted was out of stock so I had to pick a different colour so that annoyed me lol.

These are the one I got...

However, in terms of fit and comfort, they feel amazing! Without a doubt the most comfy thing my feet have ever been in! So that's a huge win.

Performance wise, I will have to wait and see, but for the price they currently are on sale, it's a steal as I needed some new footwear for the gym anyway. Will keep you posted.

attempted a lower carb day. i don't normally eat carbs until after midday anyway. kcals were alot lower too.  managed it with no issues or urges to gorge so very happy with that. i am starting to think about food alot differently. its only been 100% focus for 2 weeks now, but i'm seeing a difference already.. mood and thought patterns have improved, ive got so much more energy and drive in the gym and the weight is starting to fall off already.

Squats went up a lot better than last session. the 4th rep was a struggle. My weakness is definitely my hips. Need to look into how i can fix that, but imagine the answer would be shut up and squat! Last rep of the last set of the 100, i went down and got half way up and just got stuck. i was strong enough to hold it so i didn't bale it on the bars, but it took a good 5 seconds to force the damn bar up... like i was in the matrix, or if your life flashed before your eyes and everything slows down to a standstill..

Bench was back and feeling gooood! i had a good couple more reps in the final 531 set but didn't want to push it

I wanted the black and red ones but they wasn't in my size sadly :(

People have an issue with the crossfit badge on there, and of course I'd prefer if it said something strongman or power lifting related, but the bottom line is that crossfit has a lot of money and coverage in it... Something strongman and power lifting does not. Besides, I know what I am and if these shoes help, then I don't care.

I love the idea of all the dead converse hanging on the wall, brilliant.

I would also like to echo the gents above mate... I love the work ethic, consistency and dedication you're currently showing. It's rubbing off on me too and helping me stay focused, so keep it up mate. You are going to get jacked and tan for sure.

Quality session too, you're putting in some immense graft and results will come. In terms of the hips, have you thought some kind of hip circle concept to get them warmed up first, or even to incorporate some hip work in post squats etc? I've got some small bands to try and replicate the hip circle idea, seems to help.

Yeh ive seen the hip circle, they even squat with it on sometimes. i will try it, (got an old inner tube for my bike which might work) cheers mate.

I don't think its the warming up though, i just think they are the weakest part. only started squatting last year. before it was all leg press(if ever did legs), so i think while ive got decent quad strength, everything else is not, glutes/hams etc..

I'm saying they're the weakest because after squatting, if you had to imagine the line of a pair of speedos, groin, hips and ass. they are the parts that ache and the parts that can sometime cause form to breakdown. my legs are not used to volume at all, not like the rest of my body. volume at low weight is whats needed, grease the groove properly. may attack them with a GVT 10X10 on my deload. its like cardio too. even body weight squats anything over 5 and im blowing.. need to improve the fitness and conditioning.
