Well first time I’ve really tried to cut on a high blast and I’ve discovered I just don’t lose much scale weight! My body responds very well to gear but even on a deficit with long fasts and virtually zero carbs I build muscle and my shape gets better which would hopefully mean I’m dropping fat. The holy grail of a recomp.

But...

At my size.. I don’t need to recomp, I need to drop kilos, like I have bee doing all this year. This blast has shown me that drugs aren’t required to lose weight, I do much better and am much more consistent on a moderate cruise. But gym isn’t exactly fun on a cruise!

So the DBOL is my last hurrah for the last few weeks of this blast and then that’s it, no more blasting till I’m in the mid 130’s.

Mid 130s! Exciting stuff to hear you talking about it!

Funny you should mention Friday nights in the gym. I popped my head in my local yesterday around 6:30pm and it was rammed silly! Plenty of eye candy about which almost makes it worth it. Almost.

Nice lifting buddy!

Looking very strong mate and definitely trimmer.

Hard to tell with the angle but remember to bring elbows up with the SLRs... they should be equal or higher than wrists. I always find leaning forward a tough helps to keep it more honest. Still bloody strong though.

Don't stop in-between reps and keep them out to your side. A tad jerky if we're being completely honest. Incredibly strong though.

Thanks guys.

Now SLR’s are a funny one and this is my personal take on them.

it is a low angle but I don’t believe wrists need to be higher then elbows, only that wrists should be in that ‘pouring milk’ position where the back of the DB is higher then the front to isolate the side Delt. Remember if elbows are too high, traps come into play(like an Upright Row) so it’s just finding that point where the target muscle is activated in isolation. Leaning too forward will also bring rear delts into play. All these are fine in fact more people should try stimulate as many different muscles as possible more often.

A pause between reps is fine. In fact slightly pausing should allow some lactic acid to dispate allowing more total reps. Even just one extra rep gained is more volume and more TUT. You need to also look at total sets done as a whole. Heavy in the beginning, getting lighter. I truly believe that to get any kind of gainz you need to push heavy weights and if that means a slight bit of body English then at a certain level that’s what’s needed as long as you keep the target muscle in focus. Just pussying about with light dumbbells doing perfect form week in eeek out does not grow boulder shoulders. Once you’ve done your heavy sets then you tighten things up, get stricter, keep the tut going. I like clusters at the end, it just blows them up. It’s all about balancing everything.

1 Hour family bike ride this morning.

Suitably carbed up, I hit gym for some pressing and arms for 4th session in a row. All went great except for a bit of a tight / uncomfortable thing going on in my hamstring.

Rest day (needed) and low calories tomorrow before I hit 5 sessions in a row before my holiday.

You need to hire a new cameraman.

Debating the virtues of SLRs and various technique nuances.... I don't think I can handle this much bro any more.

Good to see some pain free quality work going in

Touch all the wood! Knee is good. But that’s cause I’m not pushing it at all. It’s only being loaded with Leg Press (alternating close and Wide Stance) and I’m keeping weight under 200kg but just slowly increasing volume each session a set at a time. I also find if I keep reps at 5 it doesn’t ache as much the next day compared to higher rep sets(which shows my form probably breaks down mid way so something to work on)

Needed day off yesterday but this morning woke up with stiff and sore legs. That ham tweak has moved up to my arse legs just not playing ball at all. Made 90min of KungFu painful. Hit gym after and wanted to move something heavy for a change. A little test at 100kg Overhead considering haven’t done a Strict Press in ages as have been doing Pin Press and Viking Press, got 4 Reps not too shabby.

Kept stretching the legs though the whole workout and made myself get on the treadmill for a run and get the moving. Feel ok now but morning is yet to come!
