Training going well mate.

You are one of the best at self identifying an issue, applying a logical and reasoned argument to it and then creating a solution for it. I have no doubt you will find the way forward mate just keep at it and limit the damage in the meantime.

Greetings one and all.

I’ve been away for a bit. Truth be told I’ve not been in a very good place and just needed to step away from the internet completely.

I had a few more really bad episodes of sugars crashing, causing panic attack’s, went to hospital and had more bloods done. Still no idea whats what as I’m not diabetic and have no markers just raised insulin. I decided enough was enough and I could not continue like that so I dropped every single gram of carbs and sugar from from my diet to try and get this sorted and my sensitivity back. It was more a therapeutic keto diet then a traditional gym rat keto diet. Fats were up at 85% and protein at 15%. I did this for 12 days with long fasts and I felt great. No further crashes, more energy and my mood increased greatly. I just kept an abbreviated full body every second day. I then went to wales for a semi relaxing weekend. I had a pizza, some welsh cakes and mince pies, even some bloody dairy milk and I was fine. No crashes. Back in the high fat wagon and maintaining that streak.. also got the added benefit if dropping a sh!t load of weight..in December of all times!

So that’s me.. I believe this has been caused by doing keto pretty much for a whole year, then suddenly smashing 500-800g carbs everyday for 6 weeks, combined with my weight, my body just couldn’t cope.

Going to be running a therapeutic keto diet for next few months. Weight continues to fall.

I’m still not in a great place mentally, really struggling but hopefully will be back in the new year. Next year is the year to get strong so need to get over this bump.

Hope you’re all well! X

Good to see you back mate, a break from the internet of things is ideal when things like this happen. It seems to be pretty much confirmed that keto/low carb is the best way for you to go from now on. With the occasional treat of course to keep your sanity.

I don't think this will hold you back much either, you are more than capable of getting silly strong with limited carbs, carbs are over rated imo. With the added benefit of being able to cut down on fat as well it should be a win-win. Are you on a cycle still?

Also, just remember where you were this time last year, you've lost an incredible amount of weight so stay positive man.

Good to have you back mate. Looking forward to seeing your strength work over next few weeks/months. Some good sessions above - as I always say unpractised your pressing strength is ridiculously strong!

You can’t have a montage without a power ballad... which knowing my luck YouTube would no doubt flag as copywrite infringement and take down!

Filmed one today tho, ballad free unfortunately. I never felt comfortable filming machine work, now I’m back with a barbell in my mits I’ll be doing more

Been a much better week this week has. New diet plan is working very well, no issues, feeling better mentally and physically, weight dropping and I’m enjoying it!

Back in the rack this morning for some strict press.. proper standing, none of this smith stuff. It’s been a while. But.. I’ve said many times before my overhead pressing always seems to stay in good stead even when my bench goes to sh!t

Very comfy triple at 100kg which I wasn’t expecting.

Lakeside tomorrow, 20 hour fast while finishing Christmas shopping in amongst the chaos and then a 5 guys for this weeks cheat.
