Health spa! Oh no! Its going to be stained with my blood sweat and tears (I’ll be sure to lacquer over it so the blood sweat and tears is preserved for all time!) I’m only going to heat the hot tub on special occasions, the rest of the time, it will be used as an ice plunge pool.. imagine me as wolverine, getting all healed up ready to attach another bout of lifting steel! Again the bar will only serve beers at special occasion, the rest of the time it will be proteins you only! And speaking it proteinz don’t forget the fire pit, pothole cauldron ,smoker, tandor, grill and spit roast ! If we need carbs I’ll light the pizza oven!

There is not point doing anything by halves!

Arm really gave me jyp at kung fu. 2000 punches and I could feel it!l

Your thumb went numb? Hope it’s not too serious. My finger is still dead from the skewer. Really annoys me and I have to be so careful with it

Lovely sessions going on mate.  How are you knees doing with your squat everyday protocol?  I've run Smolov Jr a few times and that was always intense squatting a mere 4 times a week.

I think the graft will make the home gym even more appreciated.  It's a good test of mental strength doing it ll the hard way.  In a world where most people choose the easy path, go the hard way.

I spent a July 4th in Texas back in the 90s, huge outside festival. Well in the 90deg that weekend, if not higher. There was a natural spring pool fed by a constant flow of water from the mountains/hills. The result of which was a substantial drop in water temp to the outside temp.... thought I was going to die when I jumped in. My whole body didn't move for about 30secs, including my heart I swear. Fvcking brutal

I used to be very much like that. I always had a sense of pride being able to say 'I did that by myself.' Now I find the hours are short and the pockets shorter, I have to weigh up the number of hours the job will take vs. the cost. Time is more expensive to me now if that makes sense.

Lol yeh the cold can be quite a shock.. most drownings of people going overboard is because they panic when they get hit by the water. It’s good to train in cold water, steady breathing and working on that fight or flight response.. and excellent for sore aching muscles!

I watched first one.. him going round to the builders and the kids at the skate park showing what he can do. And then meeting that dude that pulls a truck with his nuts lol .It is incredible some of the things people can do.

I didn’t want to jinx anything by saying but since you’ve asked.. it’s been fvcking fantastic! Especially the last 2-3 days, I’ve really noticed little things.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s been hard, mentally very hard actually. The first thing I think about when I wake up is I’ve got I go squat today, the last thing I think about before I sleep is I’ve goto go squat tomorrow.

My legs are great, it’s the rest of me that’s getting beat up a bit. (Haven’t been sleeping well so that’s affecting it plus I’m in a deficit and doing 16 hour fasts most days)

But the knees feel so much more solid and stable walking especially going downstairs, legs are rock hard all the time, I noticed it at kung fu doing line work. It’s def doing something, I’ve dropped a belt notch this week and quad is up 2cm (although that’s probably cause it’s got perma blood flow/pump going on.

Another thing I’ve noticed is upper body is a lot more muscular. It could be that I’ve dropped a bit of fat or it could because I’ve cut back on upper body training massively, volume and frequency . I was doing so much volume for so long, but last 10days Its been minimal while I concentrate on squats. I felt something similar when I went on holiday and didn’t train at all.

Yeh mate completely agree. A lot of satisfaction doing things myself. Once they’re done that is.. half way through and I’m always cursing my crazy ideas!

Yes bud time is very precious ! Completely agree. But.. I think a lot of people waste a lot of time .. I can’t believe how much TV some people at work watch.. I probably watch 2 hour long series a week and maybe a film each on the weekend at evening. Everyone has there own things I suppose.. I’m lucky that my days off work with my daughter , she’s at school most of the day.. and weekends were all in the garden anyway in summer , I’ll just be covered in glue and cement!

Daily max is still relatively comfortable (surprisingly after not squatting for so long) but I feel I am losing a bit of tightness in my core/trunk. Legs are solid, upper back is solid but that midpoint is a bit of a weak link. As we’ve just done 10 days, which is a third of the initial 30 day target and a nice round number, time to make some slight changes for tomorrow I think

Still going to stay with daily max and slowly keep that going up until we reach an impasse, but the down sets I’m going to reduce to between 70-75% for 3 triples but do them beltless.

It would be prudent to not get too carried away but certainly going well so far on the knees and squats front

Changing to beltless and triples I’m down sets I could really feel the difference. All good tho. And we’re into the 2nd 3rd of this plan!

Although legs took an absolute battering tonight at KF. Leg locks, throws and take downs. I’ve learnt how to fall well, I just had to get up off the floor about 200 times, my legs feel like jelly now. Hot soak and hope they’re ok for tomorrow at 8am. Coz I’ve got squats again...

Getting up and down from the floor constantly is killer, in fact that can be harder than some of the training drills.  Do you have any rolls in your system?  I'm reasonable at forward but backwards not so much.
