ANyone here got a 125??

Thining about getting a 125, had the thought in my head for a couple of years but never had the bottle to go through with it. 3 of my closest mates are on bikes and tbh aside from feeling left out it was my feckin idea in the first place So been thinkin bout gettin somethin like an NSR 125 and just enjoying myself for once. The thought of an off doesn't bother me too much but it bothers my parents A LOT, so just wondering and i know it's a hard to answer question just how badly could you get injured (obviously aside form the obvious) wearing full gear and coming off at 50/60mph..thanks bros

Got a couple of bikes. Get an NSR125 if you can find one. Or an RS250 would be my ideal choice. Failing that, get a de-restricted DT125R, animals!!

In my experience the crashes i've had when going slow (20-30mph) have hurt more than faster off's. Don't ask me why, but it's true.

**** that, just save up for a Kawasaki thou, get a couple of track days under your belt, then go off to spain with the boys on em!!

Many moons ago before i had any kids i had a Honda XL125 (among others) which i used to ride to and from work, although it wasn't my first bike - growing up on a farm i started riding motorbikes around the age of 9 or 10.
I have also seriously thought about getting back into riding bikes again and i 'love' the new Yamaha DT 125 or bikes very similar as i prefer the off road look.
However does anyone know what the restriceted top speed is for 125's for anyone wearing the dreaded L plates and if you buy a bike and have it de-restricted does this make your insurance void if you have an accident ?

I once owned a ZR 50 and the amount of clueless nob heads on the roads forced me to sell and stick to driving a car!

Started on one of those nasty Honda rubber band propelled things and then moved on to a Yamaha DT 125.
I still love those bikes and am with Claire on this one.

The 125's that are more designed to look like superbikes make me chuckle as they sound like souped up pizza delivery bikes crossed with a hornet.

    Look nice, are crap.

    Better off with an RS.
