2-3 grams a day, had an injury got a little depressed next thing you know bang, my life seems to be crippled by it at the moment, would not be so bad but this stuff is direct from col, not cutting so more addictive,

does not help the guy selling it is a good friend of mine,

He isn't your friend. At least, that's the side of your 'friendship' that he doesn't want you to see.

I don't even bring my brother's cheap ciggies whenever I go to France. It's a principle.

Kick it now - you have the steel of will to be here, lifting weights. The worst thing would be to end up like one of those addicts - don't do it mate, you're better than that.

Well my brother got cured when he went to prison. He couldn't use so much in there so he kicked the habit.

If you can't stop by yourself then maybe look into checking yourself into re-hab or some kind of drying out place.

I doubt you're anywhere in the South West are you? I might be able to help you find somewhere if you are, as I have some friends I could ask.

I use to have a general need to be off my head most of the time....which incuded most substances inc coke (if it was going at the right price). What are you asking in this thread ,do you need recognition that you are reliant ?

What was your story with booze mate (he asks with a big glass of Chivvy Regal...)??

I remember, when I was 23, I deliberately went a whole year without booze JUST to prove to myself, years from then, that if I ever developed a problem, that I had abstained once - I could do it again.

Agree your 'mate' selling you the stuff is not a true mate. If he was he'd see your problem and refuse to sell anymore to you. He's making money from you and that's all he sees you as. Sorry but that's how it seems to be.

You have taken the first step to doing something about this by admitting it's a problem. Most addicts think they're in control. I would go and see your Doctor and see what they can do for you.....therapy etc

You also realise do you that such drugs are also connected to depression so the sooner you can get off them the better you will feel.

Good luck mate. Keep us posted how you get on and well done for opening up.

Well done for admitting it mate! That's the really hard part

I have mates who've been addicted to various class As and stopped, I've had others who still sell/take loads.

I suggest you make stopping an absolute priority. Otherwise you'll start losing friends (apart from maybe one or two true ones), have no cash, job and health will suffer.

Do whatever it takes ... moving away, centres etc ... get that sorted first!

    Good luck!

Just re-read , "two to three grams a day"....damn you must be in bits when not on it...that old cycle is very easily fallen into...i know it well myself but was more into amphetamines (amoungst others...drink finally replaced the drugs) however the cycle is similar...as kitty said you will need help and it will more likely break you as person...youll come out the other side much stronger for it though

coke is very dangerous, the reason i say this is heroin etc is for the most socially un acceptable weres as coke ,e etc can be semi-accpetable.
but coke has a way of sneaking up on you and you dont realise.

some doormen i used to work with developed a habit ,a local geezer used to tip them 5-10g each time he came in.
one guy in particular got right into it slowly his personality changed he became suss about everyone.
snappy and arrogant this built up slowly till he was not the same person at all.
prior to this i fifgured coke was pretty safe but it was such a dramatic change it really was scary to see.

hope thigns work out for you mate

i used to be an alcoholist in my teen years and most of my family members from my fathers side are alcoholics and junkies to different kinds of substances including heroine. And it seems to me that it is not only the substance by the social group which is hard to kick off. Thats why so many people go back after kicking the habit because that was the main connection you had with the group of "friends" in the first place.

Please think about that issue as well when you decide to kick it off and go for rehab or whatever. When you come back, you do not want to try to continue your life exactly as it was just without coke, or my bet is that you will be back using in no time.

I could be wrong though, but when i stopped drinking i had to change my circle of friends - some of them became really hostile when i stopped for what ever ****ed up reason!

Not pleasant and I wish you well. I have a family member who was kept in a 'home for the mentally ill' for many years and will for ever now be in care due to his past addictions. He is also on medication that will shorten his life in order to give him any value of life.

    Act now my friend.

I aint as bad a s some people omn coke but I still take too much.

I have been doing it every weekend since I was about 19 I am now 24, I used to try and stop and would just not take it for 1 weekend, but be back on it the next.

This last 6 months though I have laid off it for 5 weeks once and now not had any for 3 weeks.

I am sick off it, someone asked me what pubs and clubs I go to the other day, and I couldnt name any I was a regular at anymore, I used to be out friday saturday night, in clubs, but now Instead of spending cash on taxis and over priced drink I have been spending it all on charlie.

My best pals all flew out to Majorca last night and I am still here as everytime I have spare cash I would spend it on charlie rather than put it away, I aint been on holiday since 2000 when I started taking it regularly.

Its got to the stage where I either get addicted orneed to stop it, at least I have realised what a complete and utter waste of cash it is, only thing thats hard for me is the bird likes it, though not as bad as me so if she wants it I am easy to talk into getting it.

hey ultimate - Ive been through addiction hell and back and consider myself to have quite a bit of experience with it. If you fancy taking it off the board and having a private chat about it then feel free to email me.

First rule is you need to honestly 100% want to quit for YOURSELF and yourself only. Trying to quit for your family, friends and loved ones will not work.

Best of luck with getting off the stuff bro, never done it myself but know a few who have and everyone had some kind of problem stem from continued use.

The biggests problems i saw were mental problems and serious financial crisis!

Dont let a good Iron bro like yourself be destroyed by the white lines.

I've been ****ing up my training again cos of doing coke at weekends, don't bother with it but when I meet up with me mates there is always plenty going spare.

Gotta learn to use will power, I will say though that I enjoy the effects of coke and e immensely but trying to stop them as I realise they ain't healthy for ya.
