Adlington Overhead Challenge

Kept score yesterday at the Adlington Overhead Challenge (overhead anyhow from racks, four attempts). Martin Flett (Golden Oldie) MCed, Fat Pete and Phil Parker loaded (hardest job of all). Aaron Lohan started us off well with an easy 185 bench pb at 85kg. Then on to the meat of the day... results, from memory:

tony b 100 pb in his first ever meet
joni p 125 pb ("Veganlifter")
tony h 130 pb ("T0NY", he's not just a pretty set of abs)
tony morgan 137.5 cpb ("Rusev", from the floor, too, not the racks)
mick ashurst 145 pb
john fairclough 150 epb
jeff williams 165 cpb ("Wigan")
mark felix 182.5 epb
andy littler 187.5 cpb ("Little A")
mark clegg 210 epb

"pb" denotes all-time PB, "cpb" comeback PB (some of our lifters were big achievers as kids and are now having another bash in their 30s), "epb" equal all-time PB.

Not a bad day's lifting, then.

Holy frick. Just watched the first vid!
Got to say Andy Littler looks tiny in comparrison to many there (I expect he's massive compared to me) but he lifted more than Mark Felix. Insane!

Yes he did that what the difference with proper techique done over 25 years training does.

I had a simular thing at a fete where Geoff Capes was he kept quiet in the back as i CJ up to about 150 at 12 stone (75k)  his best on an olympic bar Is around the same weighing a bit more than 12 stone.

    ..I just hate Jerks

Which is strange as your speed under the bar for your jerk is awesome.
Did you do much isolated pressing (or indeed any at all) when training in your pomp? Push-pressing or power jerks taking the bar from a rack, that sort of thing?
    Great vid.

At one stage I was doing easy cleans but missing the jerk so the training I did too improve my Jerk was every time I cleaned a weight I had to jerk it at least twice plain and simple, it worked
