    If training ~8pm

PWO - Carbs and whey protein
PPWO - Carbs and solid, lean protein.

If not training and around ~8pm

    Solid, lean protein

Or sometimes protein and healthy fats.

Disecting your question with the most basic of mind dissemblers. Im to understand you have a concern with the old adage that eating/snacking late evening is going to make you fat! As the others said, it is completely based on your personal circuimstances and goals.

Take into consideration what you would like to achieve and also your activity levels. A guy who trains performs intense weight training at 7pm on an evening will have a different protocal to a person whom trains early in the day.

I personally would give you the following cookie cutter advice and allow you to taior around your own personal needs. Always get some decent protein into the equation, add in some decent sources fat. Carbs I would add in depending on what i have done or what im going to do activity wise.. If im going to sit on my arse watching Telly from 8-11pm, I would go easier on the carbs.

Others will probably tell you different. This is the approach i take.

I am Ripper... Tearer... Slasher... Gouger. I am the Teeth in the Darkness, the Talons in the Night. Mine is Strength... and Lust... and Power!

I usually have nuts, cottage cheese + rice cakes, or wholemeal bread and chicken, etc, a couple of hours before having a shake before bed [I train around 6pm though]

BTW there is no answer to this question

and deeming any information from others diets is of very little use

    8pm, 10pm 1am 5am???? whatever

make a diet that suits your times, stats, goals and so on

the clock, and other peoples clock means jack
