Alternative to dead lifts?

My back work out goes like this

3x8 deadlifts
3x8 bent over rows
3x8 lat pull downs
3x8 BB crurls (for arms)

However I dont 'feel' right doing deadlifts, what other exercise can I swap it with?

Swap deadlifts done not feeling right for deadlifts done feeling right.

You'd rather just get rid of arguably the single most effective exercise for building strength and mass than learn how to do it properly? That's just too lazy, especially considering your pull workout looks pretty much perfect as it is.

Why do deadlifts not feel right?

I dont know, maybe my form is not correct. I would rather use a different exercise. Can any one point me in the right direction of a 'how to do perfect deadlifts?'

    http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/GluteusMaximus/BBDeadlift.html

    Things to remember:

    - Get your hips low at the beginning and drive through the floor with your feet. Your thighs should be the muscles initiating the movement.

    - Keep your back straight (or arched).

    - Keep the bar as close to your body as possible throughout the movement.

You already have a horizontal and a vertical pulling exercise in your routine, as well as curls; there really isn't anything that you can "swap" with deadlifts, because nothing mimics the movement of a deadlift. Definitely better to persevere with them.

I know how u feel... deadlifts are a difficult exercise to perform. Maybe ur lower back isn't strong enough? If this is the case, I would recommend strengthening it with another exercise and doing lightweight deadlifts in the meantime just to work on technique. It is very easy to hurt the back on deadlifts. Hyperextensions would be good for this:

You could add another upper back exercise as well if u take the DL's out.

If it's just about not feeling comfortable, that's a lame excuse... keep working on the form until u get it right. It takes time but don't give up.

imo too many people hurt their lower backs with deads. Let the weight fall across the whole of your back. I reckon less weight would help.

You could try rack pulls in place of deads for the time being. Then when you're more comfortable, lower the bar progressively over a period of time until it's a proper deadlift.
