Am I messing up?

I'm into week 4 of a 13 week training program to do a full power meet on Dec 6, 2003. I discovered another comp near home on Nov 2(5 weeks away) that I would like to enter deadlift only. I thought I could step up my deadlift program for next four weeks, take a week rest and enter contest. Take a few days off after tourney and gear back up for next 3.5 weeks for full power meet. I don't really see a problem with that...does anyone? [B)][B)]

Better of in here me thinks!.

    Unless you have competed several times already, I think the experience of competition far outweighs any risks of peaking too early.
