Ankle :(

i fractured my ankle last feb and now and again it aches and swells depending on the weather, i have been alot more cardio now to try and loose abit of belly from over indulging on the beer
i use the x-trainer alot upto 40-50mins straight in a session and my foot goes abit numb like the blood cant flow properly so i have to stop and wiggle my foot abit for it to go back to normal, its the same feeling as if you lie on your arm.

should i goto the docs and see if anything can be done about it ? or is this just what its gonna be like in the future, it was the outer bone that was fractured just above the ball of the ankle, all i had was just a cast as it was just a split in the bone.
it happened at a concert in the mosh pit when 3 peeps fell onto my leg.

i know full well its gonna be giving me grief later on in life

    It's a pain, isn't it mate?
I'm not sure the aching ever really stops or things ever get back to normal tbh.

I'm 4-years post-op after snapping my patellar tendon, mashing my knee cap, detaching my quad and having my leg bone shoot through my trousers - the surgeons did a remarkable job putting it all back together but cold weather = serious aches and stiffness, as does standing up for too long.

Dvdman's elbow joint is something else - it's a fused mass of bone.

Dunno how old you are mate but somewhere around 2030, when me and DVDman are both retired, we'd like to invite you to MT Posters' Old Git's Injury Club to share a protein shake and whinge.

Did you have any pins put in it mate (and then removed)?

I had a pin in my hand when I broke a bone in 2001 and it stilll sometimes gives me a slight ache from time to time.

Doctor may refer you to physio so it can't hurt to go and get it looked at.

    Unaffiliated.

You should have been referred to a rehabilitation specialist physio if you did your ankle in. I was.

yea i went to physio and they gave me a big rubber band and excercises to do just like in that pic which i did

just does my head in when it aches like a dull ache, and the going numb on the x-trainer does my nut in :P

can feel its weaker than the other ankle especially in doing squats

nope didnt have any pins , was lucky didnt need surgery, so just whacked me in a cast

im 29 at the mo so yeah in 2030 will be 50 so send me a invite for the 'Old Gits Injury Club'
