Anone here work for Dell?

I know we had some members in the past that work for Dell. However, I checked their status and they haven't been on for ages. Anyone else work for them?

I'm trying to spend some money with them and I am getting the right runaround from their Indian call center. I just need to be able to ask a question and get a straight answer. No one there has even heard of Gibraltar even though we are served by their UK website (there is an option for Gibraltar when you enter the postcode - cos we don't have any here). I don't think people in the Indian call center have even used the website. I was even told to call France.

I really want to buy some kit but there are limits to how hard I want to work to give someone money!

I used to work for the repair side of Dell but that was 5 years ago, they outsourced there repairs to a company called Celestica Ltd and they where based in telford.

Unfortuately I really need to be able to get sales. I've now put in a complaint but don't hold much hope. The same people that are not helping me with my sales question will probably be the same as those that get the complaints form. It's comical - I explain everything and they seem to understand only to have them say exactly what I was saying was the problem about 5 mins later.

    ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!

Got through and they have a sales line - explained I was in Gib and I want the VAT removed. Tracy was very helpful and said that Customer Care should be able to help I'll put you through. Only to get a message "Welcome to customer care - our hours are 9-5pm - you can use our website at......"

    So another circle.

Coincidently David is also having trouble with them with a laptop he just bought - They sent the wrong one after he'd got the sales person to double confirm everything. How do they manage to get any business?

Is there a particular reason you want to use Dell? Is this for business or home use?

It's for a new monitor I wanted. It just so happens this one got a many good reviews and it was on offer - the price to quality ratio was good. Don't forget I live in Gib and we don't have quite the choice you all have - many companies just don't ship out of the UK especially as these are "high risk" items.

Yes, of course screw them after this but when you do want somewthing you do at least try first and it almost becomes a challenge!

I on the other can't screw them, yet.

I have already recieved the laptop BUT it didn't match my order. I have spent 8 days now trying to get someone to just say "Yes, it's a mistake, here have a laptop like the one you orderded" Instead I wasted a few days talking to Indian call centre staff who are hopeless and British and Irish managers who seem hopelessly bound and impotent.

Also I do not beleive that ordering an HP would have been eny better as HP's Indian call centre was flooded out and none of the staff could get to work.

So if there is anyone who works for Dell PLEASE HELP, all I want is the laptop I have paid for.
