One more thing...When doing the 5x5, are you supposed to do warm up sets, and then start your 5x5 or are you supposed to do 2 warmup sets and then the last 3 sets are are your working sets? I am alittle confused but I wanted to clear this up before i begin.

Because this is a full body routine Frankie recommends you do 2 warm-up sets then your work sets at 3x5 or 4x6.....

so for example (not actual weights) I would do something like this...

50x5
75x5
100x5
100x5
100x5

And this would be the same for every exercise that I did?

i just don't think this is a good routine

I have been using this routine for a month and have made decent gains in both strength and mass. It is a good routine.

Please don't fabricate, he only posted the routine on 24th Jan 2004 which, by my calendar, is only 2 weeks ago.

quote:
Fine, but why would any one do over head presses before deads???? Deads are a far more demanding exercise which also have a much greater anabolic effect so it is only logical that they be done first.

Peforming military presses before deadlifts has worked well for me. I had reached a point where I could no longer add weight to my military press, but by prioritising the exercise I have been able to add 7.5 kg to the lift in 3 weeks.

Great, how much less are you deadlifting?

Personally i think this is a total crock. I can lift as much on deadlift after doing heavy overhead pressing as if i did when doing deads first. Redundant argument if you ask me. And dear oh dear..im commenting on a n3arly 4 year old post haha. silly me

hi guys

just started the routine and looking forward to making good gains!

quick question dudes;

triceps dips. read the discussion between frankie and ozzy etc. are the dips of this routine directly targeting the triceps or chest?

if im working out 3 times a week say doing workout 1 on monday, workout 2 on thur, workout 1 again on sun will i nt overtrain?? as i am working the same muscle groups twice a week (workout 1 done twice)

cheers, ur answers are much appreciated x

"THIS ROUTINE IS INTENDED FOR THE NATURAL TRAINER ONLY"

Can anyone explain that statement?

I can only imagine he meant, if you're juicing do a 4/5 day split.

Frankie NY

Sets and reps? Similar to the other program – 4x6 or 5x5 (but only 3 work sets).

This routine looks awesome and I am going to start it but which of the sets would I be aiming to reach failure on?
First 3 sets or last 3 sets for example?

Many thanks!

You're not training to failure on any of the sets....
