Another motor purchasing scam.... very very good though!
I'm looking for a new motorbike, a Honda CBR600RR to be precise. My previous bike was a Suzuki SV650s, excellent condition and a great bargin from ebay when i purchased it. It was about £1000 cheaper than all SV's out there, better nick etc and seemed too good to be true but it wasn't. Anyhow, I check ebay this time - nothing, biketrader - nothing, MCN - an amazing deal. £2000 for an 2008 CBR 600 RR, near mint condition - quick sale required. Got me thinking but even for a quick sale £2k is very very cheap. Here is the advert anyway... http://www.motorcyclenews.../2008/_/R-NXGN-7556297
I tried to call the number but it didn't work so i dropped in an email.
I have just seen your advert for your CBR600rr for sale.
A few questions:
What are the reasons for sale?
Any problems with the bike?
When was the last service?
Thanks, if you wish to call me back you can use 0**********. I could not get through on the number provided on MCN.
Even if the bike is sold could you please let me know.
Then i receive a reply saying
The bike is still for sale. Immaculate condition, no scratches, no damages, nothing to worry about. All necessary documents available. My current location is Scotland due to my work commitments. If this is going to be a quick sale, I will let it go for £2,000 delivered at my costs. Are you familiar to eBay? I have the bike on eBay Motors for the £2,000 buy it now price so you can buy it immediate.
As soon as you will confirm the payment to eBay, I will proceed delivery without any additional costs for you.
In case you are not familiar with them, please read their Buyer Protection and will see that they cover 100% the transaction done through them up to £50,000. You will receive the bike along with all the documents. As you know eBay is the best company of online transactions. If indeed interested in buying it and have the funds, I will list it on eBay, as I have a 100% positive feedback with them.
Please let me know your decision.
Anyhow, i get the reply from someone called lisa, not lee but i thought "hmmmm, wants it done on ebay, okay i'm happy with that but why is she going on about the buyer protection so much but meh"
Few email's later and she gives me the "ebay" link for the bike (Hyperlinked so all i see is blue clicky writing) saying 2008 HONDA CBR 600 RR-8 RED
Open the link, have a read and think okay, wow, fair play good sellers feedback etc but I'm usually logged in automatically with ebay but i think okay, let me click buy know. On the next page it looked a bit dodgy, so i look up at the actual link and it is http://slscgivuk.com/eb/v...111E0E55111E0E559FF=04
What the hell is that! Close one but looks like it was too good to be true!
