Anyone been hit with the bug recently?

Hit me quicker than Mike Tysons left hook last night. Was getting ready for work and started to get stomach cramps, walking to work felt faint and in work I spent the first hour and a half vomiting before insisting I go home. Went to bed at 8pm didn't wake up until this morning around 11.30 was out for the count. Had no appetite all day and been to the toilet about 8 times already. Forgot how ruthless the 24hour bug was! Anyone else had it recently?

First time I've been ill besides a hangover for as long as I can remember!

yes about 3 weeks ago I was perfectly fine. I went to bed I couldnt sleep then all of a sudden about 4 am felt sick and literally couldnt move it if stood up I was sick. I couldnt work out out .

Went on all day just couldnt move and couldnt eat if I even drunk water I felt sick. The next day it was nearly gone. Still cant work out what it was. Probably lasted 24-36 hours all in all.

People I know all seems to have colds at the moment as well but I spose thats the time of year.

Ruthless. I was absolutely fine one minute and then all of a sudden I couldn't even talk without feeling the urge to vomit / sh*t myself.

Norovirus is more than a 24hr bug though. I know people who had it for days or even more than a week. It is horrific though and it is getting into that time of year now. Time to stop eating takeaways until spring.

At max 48 hours, but that includes symptoms and about 4-6 hours of wishing you where dead.

    YEP!

Wed - Got home from work and felt really upset and mentally drained for no reason and couldn't eat. Very strange & out of character
Thurs - Came over all weak at work, had to rush to the toilet several times but still decent consistency, zero appetite and mildly nauseous. Couldn't go home as my car was in for it's MOT, gutted.
Fri - Work up at 5 am and sat on the toilet for an hour, pure liquid. Had stomach cramps every 20 min or so, felt very nauseous, zero appetite, struggling to drink, stayed in bed all day. Took the day off work (first in 8 years)
Sat - As per friday minus the stomach cramps. Got out of bed at about 3 pm. Forced myself to eat something but felt very bloated. Weighed myself and down 10 lbs from Thurs. Piss like golden syrup and painful to pass.
Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun - Bit better each day and appetite coming back.
Mon, Tue - Can now eat fine and no nausea. Stools now firmer and harder to pass than usual. Only went once where id normally go 2 - 3 times per day.
Today - Flipping blood in my stools but doesnt appear to be anything to worry about. Weight still down slightly but nearly back to normal.

How do you know? Did you get a diagnosis or is there something specific about the symptoms that makes you think it was this?

Yes mate, I got taken down by this rancid whore of a bug last week.

As many of already said, I woke up about 4 and felt like I was going to erupt from one end... I proceeded to vomit so violently that the splash back from the puke hitting the sink painted the bathroom on every wall. I then spent the rest of the day in bed feeling like I'd been hit by a bus full of sumo wrestlers and fingered by hell boy.

I had never been so ill! Horrible bug.

Me too... was lots of fun.

Went to bed a week ago last Sunday just fine, woke up at 4am with real bad stomach cramps and nausea, had to go to the toilet to make myself sick.  Cured it enough for me to at least get back to sleep.  The was back up again from about 5.30am with incredible pain in my stomach, kidneys and knees.  Frequent trips to the bog for squits, was only sick the once but was very nauseous.

The Mrs called the Dr's in the morning and they asked me to go in for a 3.45pm appointment, requesting that I not take any pain killers on account of the kidney pain... a full day of agony!

As soon as I left the Dr's I was on the paracetamol and a friend dropped off some pot... made life much easier to deal with!

Following day I was a little bit better, day after that I was back to normal tho a little run down.  Getting back to weight training this week has been fun, all my weights are down on what I was post-bug!

Can any of you identify the most likely cause of it when you get a bug? For me, it's almost always after I eat out. Usually something with salad like a kebab. That's why from Autumn to Spring I tend to not eat out at all. Those blokes in the take aways aren't really paid that well and they probably don't wash their salad like they should.

Month ago my son was sick, then my wife them I was. Stomach cramps and uncontrollable vomiting, I've never been sick through illness since I was a young boy. Stomach cramps were really painful, spent three days in bed recovering then I was fine

    Diagnosis, highly contagious noro virus
