Are BBs just Cash Cows for businesses?

Must have been having one of my 'deep' moments this morning....

Began thinking..... Are we bodybuilders just becoming 'cash cows' for businesses to thrive off?

I mean..... Think about it! We must spend a fortune on ourselves. I must have more supplements and crap in my system than Boots sells in a week.

Looking at just myself..........

Protein (by the ton)
CEE
ZMA
Trib'
Sida Cordifolia
Caffiene
Hayfever tab's (lol)

I'm a walking test-tube of stuff!

Add to that the cost of all my Oats, Chicken, Fish, Steak, Veg, Skimmed Milk, the list goes on!

Anybody else feel like a walking test-tube crossed with an ATM for ready made cash!

Do we need all this stuff?

Are we our own worst enemies?

Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

When I am eating healthy and training hard, I don't drink much alcohol or eat fast food which I would have done in the past and spent more money doing so.

It's just making me wonder though.

You make a valid point, but in how many hobbies do you see folks buying stuff that isn't 10000% proven to work.

Not many hobbies are as driven as ours by adverts, selling stuff that once you bought it, you wished you hadn't.

So many posts on this forum alone, show folks are trying stuff that just plainly doesn't work. Yet these products are still on the shelf. Why? Because so many folks only have the adverts to go by, so put their hand in their pocket.

Having access to a forum like this gives us more of an informed choice, but still doesn't stop many of us from 'trying' stuff out, only to be dissapointed, (again)! I can't think of another hobby, sport or pastime like it.

Yep, hence why poeple like TT only recommends supplements such as creatine, whey and EFA's, and get most your intake from real foods.
There will always be companies out there looking to take advantage of newbies in any sport e.g a golf club that will increase your drive by 100 yards etc..

I don't spend very much on my training. What I do spend is on steroids and extra food mostly

I do occasionally experiment with interesting supplements and so on, or some new training gear such as new weights.... But not very often and it's not all that pricey TBH....

Yeah, you have to think aswell is that when your training, esspecially when on gear, i dont touch a drop of booze for about 12weeks or more, think of all the money you save there. I can blow £150 on friday and saturday night easy when in town. It all balances out in the end, mite even be cheaper.
