Are cheap batteries a false economy?

Just looking at a spare battery for my digital camera and on Amazon.co.uk you can get one for 99p, £8.99 or £20.

They are lithium ion batteries.

Do you reckon the 99p one will hold a charge or is it a con?

NP-45 Batteries

Any experts out there?

Cheers.

id go for those lithium ones for something like a digi camera. i have some and they lasted for ages, it sucks when you go to take a picture and realise the batteries have ran out

edit : wait its not AA batteries, id go for the more expensive ones, the cheap ones wont hold a charge for long, thats why their cheap

The cheap ones are often the same batteries as the more expensive ones but just older.
Lithium Ion batteries have a lifespan of only a few years so from the date of manufacture the clock is ticking, so to speak. So a battery made years ago might only last a few months in your device.

    It's worth trying them.
I have used many types of AAA in my old fashioned mp3 player.

Reasonably expensive ones like Panasonic have not lasted long, whereas the cheapo ones from Wilkinson's and B&Q have lasted much longer.

Duracell certainly last longer but you pay the price.
