Are my lats growing ??

I'm on a good beginners routine, with DL's, SLDL's, chin-ups, bench , bent-over rows etc.

Will my lats still develop quite well, even though i'm not targetting them directly (e.g. upright rows)

I find that deadlifts hit my traps and make them grow

Ah yes Lardgainer, I guess DL's have a lot of similar movement to upright rows (used to do them for my traps).
Thanks for the tip of doing shrugs, but i really don't wanna add anymore exercises as I'm doing a fairly heavy 2-day split as it is.

just because you're not actively pulling with your traps doesnt mean they wont grow. When you're deadlifting your traps are working like crazy so the weight of the bar doesnt pull your shoulders off!

don't your traps get worked in bench also? on some sets of bench before i've felt what i thought was my traps working. maybe not though.

    Hey.
When u do ur deadlifts, throw in a lil shrug when u are holdin the weight up. thats what i do, and it just boosts my traps. But i do have naturally big traps... so i dunno if the shruging really helps :\

You might feel a stress in ur sternocleidomastoid (the neck muscle that rotates ur head). Its just a reaction to the strain of the weight i guess.
