Are speddos a no no for swimming ?

Ok guys, haven't been swimming in years, about to start again. Now I was going to buy some speddos but then was told they are old fashioned and I'd look a right muppet in them. So what do swimmers wear nowadays, just short type things ?

I had a cursory look for some tight boxer short type jobbies the other day but came up blank.

Hmmm, in my day they were called bermuda shorts

If you're in great shape and hung like a mule go for it! Otherwise they are strictly the domain of macho men with far too much body hair and large gold medallions

    Or these longer ones http://www.figleaves.com/uk/product.asp?product_id=RVL-B44747A&mci=&size=&colour=

Frankly, with these http://www.figleaves.com/uk/product.asp?product_id=SPM-12-157-0016&mci=&size=&colour= you may as well just wear your testicles on the ouside. Or failing that do as the model did and just chop em off

    These are for paddling http://www.figleaves.com/uk/product.asp?product_id=SPD-15-341-9949&mci=&size=&colour=

Depends on how serious your gonna be taking your swimming.

I used to just wear normal lenght swim shorts, i have got a pair of the shorts similar style to Mr Munch's links but have always felt too 'unconditioned' to wear them
