Are you 'strong'?

I see crazy numbers being thrown up all over the Internet by lads that are 10 years younger than me, but I'd always thought I was doing ok.

I've had a number of health and injury issues but as of late I've been doing ok (although progress has slowed a bit at my body weight so it's time to bulk!)

The Big 3 were a sticking point because of injuries, but I've managed to rack up:

Bench Press: 100 × 8
Squat: 140 × 8
Deadlift: 180kg × 5
Overhead Press: 82kg × 1

at 83kg

Going back 10 years ago I dreamed of pushing these figures, but now I feel underwhelmed. I'm not the hulking mass I thought I would be, nor am I as rich as Dan Bilzerian.

You should have pretty decent 1rm with those figures then add 10% on as its the net and I am sure unless someone is a seriously good PL your numbers will be just fine.

I eat five chickens a day train once a week and bench 200kg, Squat a small car and dead lift the earth on a fulcrum which i built from my billionaire daddy trust fund. Obviously you are not in my league but theres hope you can get there one day.

    Happy to help.

Not really, not compared to a lot of my friends anyway.. But to other people, my family and other friends, they think I'm strong.

My strength would have to be mostly shoulders, I can jerk () more than my most of my friends but they can easily out bench, squat and dead me.

    Current PB's
    100kg Clean & Jerk
    110kg Bench
    190kg Deadlift
    140kg Back Squat
    120kg Front Squat

You are doing ok, imagine what them figures would be if you did not train.

Have a test week soon to find a max? Nice to know your work set max but nicer knowing your max total imo.

I will indeed test my 1rm. Never been one to test them so I will give it a go.

Now all I have to do is look as though I even lift and I should be good to go!

Nah, haven't done heavy for years.
    Don't bench n don't dead, but squats 100kg x 40 n 140kg x 20 that's my best effort.

High rep squats has a lot to do with will power than sheer strength. 20 reps at 140 would probably convert to the same max as 10 reps would.

Just be the best you can be. There is always someone stronger than you no matter how strong you get.

I'm strong compared to myself a month ago. That's the only comparison that really matters.

I am 10 yrs older than most of my engine company at the fire house. I pride myself on being able to out dead lift and squat them. A couple of them have me on bench press. They are young and dumb so they skip on cardio. My goal for knowing I am strong is being able to fight fire as long as them and also knowing if someone goes down I am carrying his a $$ out and we all go home to our families at the end of our shift. If I can't do that then I have allowed myself to become weak and need to find a different job.
