BSM - Southern England Qualifier

I watched this event yesterday, took a few pictures.

You can see them here: http://www.btinternet.com/~siggyllama/south.html

It was bloody freezing! Muscletalk members Anthony Dent and Tim "Hypershreik" White both entered, but unfortunately both bombed out on the log lift. They will both be back bigger and stronger next year though I'm sure.

Nice work Collin. I may go to watch the Northern Qualifiers on Saturday at Sheffield..

That Tim Wood guy seems to be doing well. He seems to be doing every southern comp there is.

    You mean Paul Wood?

He is definately making progress, a year ago he entered the qualifiers and couldn't get the 110kg log. This year he made the top 6 and qualified for England's Strongest Man! Goes to show what a year of hard work can do!

Sorry, yes I meant Paul Wood. I remember him from last years pics at the Nice Show at All Hallows & White Cliffs. I might see him at Sheffield then.

I have a little question for you. Am I correct in thinking that one can get into BSM competition via various different routes. This may be via:

    1) Placing certain position at the Englands Strongest Man
    OR
    2) Qualifying through the Northern/Southern/Midlands qualification rounds.
    OR
    3) Placing certain position at a regional Open show, i.e. North East Strongest Man

Right - to qualify for BSM:

    If you are English...
You need to do either the Northern, Midlands or Southern Qualifier for England's Strongest Man and place top 6 to reach the England's Strongest Man final in Sheffield. The top guys at England's Strongest Man(top 12?) qualify for BSM.

Scottish guys qualify through Scotland's Strongest Man, Welsh through the Wales Strongest Man, and Ireland through the Ireland's Strongest Man.
