BULKING UP - THE CORRECT FOODS ?

Just started my bulking up regime for 2 weeks. Have made no gains, and now i know why ! NOT ENOUGH CALORIES !

i currently eat:

- brown rice - wholemeal bread - sweet potatoe - chicken - fish - bran flakes etc etc

these are all the right foods.

The problem is that i struggle to go past the 3,000 calories mark. i require 3,600kcal. people have warned me the weight gain supplements are full of sugar, so i limit myself to only 1 serving of this per day. I need advice. i need to get the extra 600 from somewhere !

HELP HEEELP ! :)

errr.... 2 weeks? Give it 2 months first. Read the articles on this site first, get yourself a full diet and structured routine, post them up, then we can talk.

Post this in the diet and nutrition forum fella, you'll get some sound advice.  Although in answer to you're question nuts, pasta and oats should without a doubt be part of your diet especially if you're trying to bulk up!  Also read about carb timing, very interesting...

thats correct. im eating all of the right foods. I think my best option is to get the calories but in liquid form. Do you agree that i should have, MAYBE, apple juice or orange juice ? ? ?  im trying to stay away from weight gainer shakes (as too much sugar)

    Thanks guys.

take reflex instant mass or boditronics mass attack. They have little or no sugar and are both full of oats and barley.

Post your actual diet you eat on a daily basis in the Diet and Nutrition Forum for analysis, include your current stats and what you are trying to achieve.

York weight gainer - really forget it - joke food.

Also, as said before, you won't even get started in two weeks.

Also, 3600 kcals, really are you sure, that's a hell of a lot of calories? How big are you, what are your activity levels like? You should be looking for no more than 200 kcals over maintenance unless you want to become a skinny fat man.

ummm I really don t see where s the problem,  pass from 3000 to 3600 or even more kals is really easy, just 100 g of complet rice it s already 350 kals, eat 300 g of rice on only  2 meals it s 2100 kals !!! Check a table of food on google mate.

Chewing for those extra calories isn't easy when faced with some of those worthy but dull foods. Either use a blender to make some easy-to-down liquid calories, or buy some more appetising foods.
