your post is taking up space on a database on the muscletalk server...

think of muscletalk.co.uk being like a storage yard, the more crap you fill it with, the costlier to maintain it

would you pay out of your own pocket to maintain someone elses junk lol? More junk = slower data access

bandwidth is how much data can be sent along your interent connection..think of it as a highway with muliple lanes the more lanes you have the more cars(data) can travel along.

so if I were to post crap all day long, every day it costs someone? If it goes over their "budget width" or something? who do they pay?

there is always an end cost... sometimes forums have their servers tick over like a fiat panda due to the sheer number of threads/posts.
They have to upgrade the server to maintain quality of the forums... its the same as someone placing crap on your pc day in day out because they have little to no life lol.

I think, and i actually believe im nearly totally wrong, but it has to do with the amount of Memory that is allowed to be downloaded from the servers runs an "actual" cost, hence the amount of bandwidth being down loaded is costing to a certain extent.

who are the servers? surely it has to be economically viable to sustain even a large amount of ****e posts?.
