Basic Help For A Newish Guy =)
I have been going to the gym for 5 months now usually 4-5 days a week. My routine has never been anywhere near right i dont know really what i'm doing until i get in there and see what machines are free. I have all evenings and weekends free so i tend to do a 5 day split as follows ...
Sunday - Chest
Monday - Back
Tuesday - Day Off
Wednesday - Legs
Thursday - Shoulder
Friday - Bi's & Tri's
Saturday - Day Off
I have mentioned to my training partner that i think we are doing the chest too soon after Tri's as today my Tri's were still a touch tender from Fridays training. He says nah its ok they had a day off its alright. Im not so sure and so i have come here to ask you lads what do you think is the best way round to do a 5 days split. I will try to jot down the names of what exercises we do aswell in my next post as im sure i could do with a little help there too.
Also while im here can i ask if i am gaining ok for my first 5 months. I have been told the first year will see my biggest gains but i dunno what a good gain is yet lol.
I started as a total new guy to the gym with no lifting experience apart from out of bed lol =)
Flat Bench - Then --> 10k each side | Now --> 22.5k each side
Shoulder Press - Then --> 14k Db's | Now --> 24k Db's
Seated Row - Then --> 35k | Now --> 65k
Thats all i remember at the moment so let me know if they are ok or poor gains so i know if what i am doing is not as good as i could be.
