I used a company called DSTO, and whilst awaiting my time to go on the course, I sent off for my forms for the SIA license.

The course cost me £199, and the SIA license cost me £245.

I'm still awaiting the license to come through, so hopefully should be on the door within 4-5 weeks.

Go for it mate, working the doors is one of the most enjoyable jobs out there IMO. That's not to say it has it's downsides however, because it has plenty (violence, poor career prospects, unsociable hours and the wage ain't too great).

You should join this forum if you have any questions about working the doors:

When did you send off mate ? 4-5 weeks is quick imo. Lads i have worked with were waiting months.
