It is best put I wouldn't get overly paranoid about it. Casein is popular as it is slow. Whey can be used and digestion slowed my mixing with milk and adding a dash of olive oil to it. I like to have some eggs, cottage cheese and oily fish about an hour before going to be myself.

you can usually get casein from health food shops. Personally I find it easier to have a little chicken breast and whey in milk with flax seed oil before bed. Saves me buying loads of different tubs of protein and upsetting the missus too much LOL

You can slow down the digestion of foods by combining macronutrients togther which is why whey is mixed in water post workout rather than with milk etc.... and is also why I don't get too het up about GI either.

I like to have a boiled egg and some whey before bed, generally with milk as this helps a slow release.

I know some people take a teaspoon of honey as this gives them fructose, which is much needed after a heavy session.
