Bench Press help..

Does having a narrow grip make it easier/harder?

All the big benchers at the gym I use use a wide grip, my grip is super narrow..

Pic attached, think thats about right,

Now my bench is by no means weak, 137.5kg at 15.5 stone, 19 yr's young but everyone I speak to tell me that if i was to widen my grip it would come on more?

What do you think?

Definately would increase your bench going wider. You alter the leverage and shift the emphasis away from triceps which are actually the weakest link for most people (though I doubt for you). You might find you do an extra 10-20kg once you are used to benching wider.

Is that your 1RM or is it for reps? Either way for a close grip its great.

dont go too wide incase you decide to compete at a later date, there was a thread not so long ago on here about what width on the bench your hand spacing are allowed up to ..
