Best belt for deadlifting

I have two belts, a thinner golds gym one which I usually use for benching and deadlifts, and a thicker ATP powerlifting belt which I generally use for squats.

I read somewhere that its better to use a thinner belt for the deadlift, but not sure.

What one do you think would be better for deadlifting.

thanks

Depends on your body type. if you are a slim chap and can bend over in the bigger belt and have no interference with your breathing than stay with that one.

If you are a larger gentleman and the large belt does interfere with the breathing then try the small one

All things being equal, I'd try to stay with the thicker belt, unless it is causing too much discomfort by digging into bones. It's good to have the full width at the front if possible. Esp. when bodyfat is low, I have found new 13mm belts pretty painful (which is no good if it interferes with form), but for training, wearing a TK waist band underneath is a great combination - extra warmth during warm-up, and then some useful padding when the real belt goes on.
