Best phone and broadband provider????

I haven't got the phone switched on yet, I asked it about it and BT want a £50 deposit. Not even sure to go with them as I don't really know whats what when it comes to this kind of thing. Also I will want broadband in when I get the line activated, which is the best provider? We have a BT line in the house, it just isn't activated. Also will it make a difference who the broadband provider is if I want to connect to Xbox Live?....
Thanks, Ake....

The £50 deposit is usual because of credit status (not always mind you)

Depends where you are but we have Virgin Media and the broadband is spot on, the TV package is gash and the phone line is alright.

That's based on location though, do you get the £50 deposit from BT back at the end of the contract?

Yup, I'm from the same place mate, *cough cough* I'm Ake *cough*, the deposit is because of credit status. I could never give up my Sky for Virgin tv but the phone line and broadband sounds quality, might go for that. Do you know if there is any connection payments etc?

Sky are doing an offer at the moment on a TV, talk and surf package for £26 a month and it doesn't seem half bad.

Thats what sky charge think there are toher bills on top of that like having to pay BT line rental at about £11 a month. Then there was other things on top of that.

    LoL....

Virgin seems best to go with like. Obviously I wouldn't include the tv though.

Don't they take over the line from BT totally for this deal? I'm not going for it, just pointing out the options to the OP. Im pretty happy with my F2S broadband at the mo!
