Best times to take protein and why?

Hey im quite new, and im getting confused about which proteins to take, and when they should be taken. I have read stuff about whey protein and casein etc with their slow release and fast release proteins, but why is it better to take some at night or first thing in the morning? i dont understand! please help!

like you said whey has a fast release and casein a slow, so by deduction you can conclude by yourself than whey is better in the morning or post training and casein before bed and/or during night.

I inject mine straight into the muscle

I do a lot of push ups and sit ups. And I drink plenty of milk.

Limericky, it's taken in the morning without milk as your just out of bed and most likely won't have consumed anything for roughly seven hours, depending on how long you slept for.  At night it can be taken with milk to slow down the release of the protein, a drip effect.

Spot on above. Morning whey and water, post wo - whey and water, before bed milk and casien. You dont have to do this, but this is ideal.

limericky - how do you take your's atm and are you going to change after reading these comments if so to what? Just to make sure you on the right track mate.

    Hey mate,

Currently im taking the Reflex One Stop as an all in one with the overall intention of kinda bulking up in general but more importantly getting bigger muscles. At the moment i come in from work, and normally go to the gym about 8:30pm then i come back and take the one stop with milk. Is this right cos basically it is before i go to bed and should i be taking a supplement like this more frequently throughout the day, and even on days when i dont work out.

Im also currently experimenting using High 5 Energy Powder before workouts but im slightly worried that using all this stuff i might be having a sugar overload lol?

    any help?

just a quick point - depending on the casein you're taking you might want to try it with water rather than milk before bed - i know the one i'm using would be more of a meal if i used milk instead of water!

limericky - the point of protein powders are to complement your diet by boosting your daily protein intake, aim for at least 1g per 1lb of your bodyweight.

Is reflex whey and casien or just one of them?
